Terms and conditions.

The basis on which I quote for and carry out work.

Draft — must be reviewed before publishing. This is a plain-English starting point based on Wayne’s onboarding answers, not legal advice. Wayne should read it and confirm every clause reflects how he actually works, and take proper advice if he wants it watertight.

1. Who I am

W. Parham Plastering is a sole trader business owned and operated by Wayne Parham, based in Heybridge, Maldon, Essex. Contact details are on the contact page.

2. Quotations

Quotes are free and carry no obligation. I visit the property, measure up, and issue a written quotation, normally within one to two working days.

A quotation is based on what I can see and on the information given to me at the time of the visit. If additional work becomes necessary once the job starts — for example where the condition of a surface only becomes apparent after preparation begins — I will inform you before carrying out that work and agree any additional cost with you first.

Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.

3. Booking and deposits

A deposit of 40% of the quoted price is payable to secure a booking and confirm the dates. The remaining balance is due on completion.

Typical lead time for new work is around four weeks. Dates will be confirmed with you before a booking is treated as firm.

4. Payment

Payment is accepted by bank transfer or cash. Invoices are due on receipt.

5. Access and site conditions

You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the working area for the agreed dates, together with electricity and water where required. Where a room needs to be cleared or furniture moved, this should be agreed in advance.

6. Cancellation

If you need to cancel or postpone, please give as much notice as possible. Deposits may be retained in whole or in part where a cancellation is made at short notice and the dates cannot reasonably be refilled.

7. Guarantee

I stand behind my work. If a defect in workmanship becomes apparent, contact me and I will return and put it right.

This does not cover damage caused by movement in the building, damp or water ingress from another source, accidental damage, or normal wear. Hand-applied finishes such as Venetian plaster and microcement carry natural variation in tone and texture; this is a characteristic of the finish and not a defect.

8. Insurance

I carry £1,000,000 public liability insurance. Evidence of cover is available on request.

9. Complaints

If anything is not right, contact me directly in the first instance and I will do my best to resolve it.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
