How I got here

I’m Wayne, owner of W. Parham Plastering. I’ve been plastering for 27 years and I still get satisfaction turning a tired room into something that looks a million pound.

Over that time I’ve done somewhere north of a thousand jobs — everything from a full skim on a new build to a single Venetian feature wall that takes days to get right. These days most of what I’m asked for is Venetian plaster and microcement, which is the work I enjoy most.

One person, start to finish

I work on my own. That means the person who comes to look at your job is the person who does it, and the person who does it is the person you speak to if anything needs sorting. No subcontractors, no crew turning up in my place, no being passed around.

It also means I take on fewer jobs than a firm would. If I’m booked four weeks out, I’m booked four weeks out — I’d rather tell you that than squeeze you in and rush it.

How I work on site

I’m punctual and I keep in touch from start to finish. I’m clean and tidy while I’m there, and I always leave a top finish. That’s the bit clients tend to mention afterwards — not just the wall, but that the rest of the house was left as they found it.

They say I’m a top bloke — polite, friendly, and always does a top job. Clean, tidy, and goes the extra mile.

• Certified. Formally trained and certified in Venetian plaster.
• Guaranteed. If something isn’t right, I come back and sort it.
• Sole trader. Based in Heybridge, Maldon, working across Essex.

What I’m after
